CBD Have you tried it?
Submitted by: Kimmie
Have you heard the buzz about CBD? It’s not something new, but it’s getting a lot of attention with doctors now limiting pain meds to chronically ill patients. Studies indicate that CBD may help.
CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It is cultivated from the Industrial Hemp plant. It can be controversial because people often confuse it with Marijuana and a feeling of being high. CBD Hemp and Marijuana come from the same plant, however they come from different parts. Hemp has a high CBD content. CBD is non-phsychoactive. Again, you will not get high from CBD. Most, not all, Marijuana is THC dominant and that is what will produce a high.
CBD interacts with our bodies, through the Endocannabinoid System. YES, we have an Endocannabinoid System! Read this excerpt from norml.org:
“What Is The Endocannabinoid System?
The endogenous cannabinoid system, named after the plant that led to its discovery, is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment.”
Cannabinoids promote homeostasis at every level of biological life, from the sub-cellular, to the organism, and perhaps to the community and beyond.
Definition of Homeostasis from Wikipedia – “Homeostasis can be defined as the stable state of an organism and of its internal environment; as the maintenance or regulation of the stable condition, or its equilibrium; or simply as the balance of bodily functions.”
WOW! Isn’t that what we all want? Our bodies to be in Homeostasis? A perfect state! Keeping our bodies in a stable condition necessary to survive! What a concept! CBD can fill that need. Your body only takes what it needs from the CBD supplement, to help achieve and maintain Homeostasis.
So, what might it help you with? You can do a google search on various conditions together with CBD and see what you find. Do some research and read what many many people, young and old, have to say about their results when using it. I found information suggesting that CBD helps with Anxiety, Depression, Inflammation, Cancer, Seizures, Nausea, Arthritis, and much more.” For me, the proof is in the messages I receive telling me how our CBD is helping them. You can google anything, but when it comes from a person who has actually been helped by the product, that is the proof for me.
Personally, my own testimony starts back in June 2017. Short version is that I had a high fever for a few days with no other symptoms. Finally I was hospitalized and put through a ringer of tests. In the process, blood work showed my liver enzymes were more than triple what they should be. Doctors ran every test they could come up with, even so far as to removing my cells, nuking them and injecting them back into me to run a scan to see if the cells would illuminate a hidden infection. They stopped an RA med I was taking. All this torture, they found nothing except very high fever and tripled liver enzymes.
Finally, they decided I had something viral and they were going to release me. After I was released, I saw my Gastroenterologist about the liver enzymes, and he ran my blood again and enzymes were still high and had gone up a tiny bit more. He said if they didn’t come down with the next test, I would need a biopsy.
I drove home, very determined to not have a biopsy. I googled what could help my liver enzymes and CBD HEMP OIL came up! A friend of mine had been telling me about the benefits, but I was one of those…”Nope, not gonna try it” people. Well when you’re facing a liver biopsy, you’ll try pretty much anything. I messaged my friend and she directed me to her site to order CBD hemp oil. I had the bottle within a few days and took it immediately. I didn’t notice a big physical difference for about a week or so. Even then, it was subtle. I felt more calm, centered. I went for my two week blood test to check my enzymes and when the results came in, the tests were pretty close to normal! But, also, my inflammation markers were down! My doctor asked what I did and I told him about CBD. He said keep taking it!
Since beginning CBD a year ago, I notice I have much less inflammation. I have not had to wear my compression gloves for RA in over 6 months. I used to wear them every night. I have not added any other RA meds, only the original med and CBD. My doctors are on board with my CBD use and are all for it.
I used Isolate AND Full Spectrum CBD oil. Full spectrum contains CBD and other cannabinoids and up to .03% THC which promotes the entourage effect. Isolate, is just plain CBD, nothing else, no THC at all. Both work well for many people. It’s a matter of what works best with your body. If you’re subject to drug testing for THC in your position, then Isolate is a better choice for you.
Edited to add: I wanted to add in here that since this article was written, Illuminent now has a Full Spectrum topical oil, which I use twice a day and I can’t even begin to tell you how much it helps to alleviate my spot discomfort. I always have an extra on hand! The scent is pure bliss. Everyone always asks me what I’m wearing that smells so good!
So, are you ready to try it? No? Which would you rather take? These pills which have been known to irritate your stomach, or a few drops of oil under your tongue?
I’m not a doctor. I cannot dispense medical advice, so please check with your doctor and do some research, especially if you’re taking any other medications. CBD doesn’t seem to have a lot of reported side effects, and doesn’t interact with most other medications, but it can interact with some. I have noticed it helped with my blood pressure, so I had to adjust down the med I am taking for my blood pressure. Again, please ALWAYS check with your medical professional!
No promises, or medical claims here. I can only tell you how it has helped with in my body and what others have shared with me. If you’re interested in trying CBD, you can read more and purchase here.
